Edit                                           
F4, Shift+F4

 Edit loads the file under the cursor bar (in a file panel)
 into the Commander's editor (or an editor of your choice, if
 you've set one up -- see note below).

Creating a file:
 To create a new file, press Shift + F4 and type in the name
 for the new file.  You'll see the following dialog:

                 +------- Edit --------+
                 | Can't find the file |
                 |     somefile.ext    |
                 |  New-file   Cancel  |
                 +---------------------+

 Press Enter to create a new file.

   Notes:
     .  You can chose to use your own editor.  Use the
        Editor... item in the Options menu to do so.

     .  Pressing Shift + F4, or holding down the Shift key as
        you select this menu item, brings up a dialog box into
        which you can type the name of the file you want to
        edit:
